Mr. Hotchkin is the Threat Assessment Program Director for the University of Iowa where he assesses and manages incidents and behaviors that threaten the safety and well-being of the university community. Additionally, he serves as the President to FF Consultants, LLC, where he assists schools, businesses, and individuals to address situations where individuals may pose a risk to harm others.
He holds the Certified Threat Manager (CTM) certification through the Association of Threat Assessment Professionals (ATAP), possesses a Master of Public Administration with an Emergency Management and Homeland Security focus, is a graduate of the Advanced Threat Assessment and Management Academy from Gavin de Becker and Associates, a certified trainer for the Comprehensive School Threat Assessment Guidelines (CSTAG), and trained to utilize several evidence-based structured professional judgement tools to evaluate the static and dynamic violence risk factors of an individual.
Mr. Hotchkin is Veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom and a certified law enforcement officer where he has investigated felonious stalking, harassment, sexual assaults, and internet crimes.
