About Jin Kim
President of PerSec Academy
Mr. Jin Kim founded the PerSec Academy & Advisory Group LLC upon his retirement from the FBI in 2018. His decorated 23-year career in the FBI’s New York Office was highlighted by his service as the Active Shooter Subject Matter Expert while assigned to the Crisis Management Unit. As the leading authority in active shooter and workplace violence mitigation, Mr. Kim served as the FBI’s principal liaison and collaborator for private sector partnerships and public engagement.
Mr. Kim is also a Founding Principal of The Bureau Consortium – a world-class multi-disciplinary collaborative of retired FBI experts and partner practitioners – uniquely specializing in violence prevention and mitigation risk management. He also serves on numerous industry-leading security technology advisory boards and a premier non-profit organization dedicated to school safety.
